Arnold Bennett Hall (1881-1936) was a professor of political science and law, college president, and an author. Hall was president of the University of Oregon during 1926-1932. Algernon Cyrus Dixon was born in Illinois. He attended Oregon State Normal School in Monmouth from 1892-1893. In 1900 he was foreman for Booth-Kelly Lumber Co., Springfield, Oregon and became mill superintendent, sales manager, general manager, and vice-president of the company.
